My wife and I rescued our Golden Retriever through GRCGLA about 5 years ago, when he was 10 months old. Although his former family called him Finnegan-Jack, we call him Cody, which was his great grandfather's name and seemed much more appropriate for his personality. When we rescued Cody, the original plan was to rescue his sister Lilah at the same time. However, at the last minute his former family decided to keep Lilah. We were worried about splitting up the pair, since they obviously adored each other, but Cody's separation anxiety only lasted about one day and he quickly bonded with us. Cody loves to watch TV. His favorite channel is Animal Planet (but any animal on TV will do) and he can't resist barking at his TV pals to show his approval! He also likes to let everyone know when an ambulance or fire truck is approaching, by howling and trying to match the pitch and wail of the sirens. This is especially funny when he does it in the car! At the D-O-G P-A-R-K (We have to spell it, not say it... who am I kidding... he can spell!), I call him the Ball-Multiplier, because every time we throw him a ball, he brings back two. He'd bring three, but he can't quite get the third one to stay in his mouth. Cody is the 6th Golden Retriever to have owned me in my lifetime and he's definitely the best!
