| ADOPTION INFORMATION
GRCGLA Rescue adopts within Los Angeles, Orange, San Diego, Riverside, San Bernardino and Ventura Counties.
GRCGLA Rescue, Inc. reserves the right to deny any application. Please be aware that the adoption process is NOT on a first come, first serve basis. Our sole purpose is to find the best possible homes for our rescued Goldens. All applicants are subject to an approval process.
Once your application is received, a volunteer in your area will be in touch by email or phone to set up a home visit. In most areas, this process can take 7-10 days, so your patience is appreciated. Once your home visit is completed, you will be eligible to adopt a dog that is well-matched to your home and family.
All dogs are spayed or neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and vet-checked prior to adoption.

PLACEMENT POLICY FOR FAMILIES WITH CHILDREN
Dogs who come from a shelter OR directly from a family without a good positive history with kids under age 7 may NOT be placed in a home with kids under age 7 unless they’ve been fostered in a home with reasonable exposure to small kids. “Reasonable exposure” is not a casual meeting at a park or pet store, but rather real living exposure in the dog’s living space. By “fostered”, we mean placed with one of our experienced volunteer foster homes who either have kids in residence or those who visit regularly. We will NOT place an ‘unproven’ dog in an adopter’s home to see how s/he will do with kids.
If the shelter dog has been fostered with kids down to age 4, then that dog may be considered a candidate for homes with kids down to age 4, but not toddlers or infants. From the dogs’ perspective, there is a huge difference between an infant, a toddler, a 4-year-old, a 7-year-old and an adult human, and there is NO reliable test to determine if a dog with unknown history will be safe with humans in these various age categories. The ONLY cut-off age in our rescue’s policy is age 7.
Thank you for caring to adopt! We look forward to helping you find a new companion and wish you the best of luck!
