Bubba

Hi there! My name is Bubba, and I am a handsome 4-year-old Great Pyrenees mix weighing just over 100 pounds. I could stand to gain a few more pounds, but otherwise I'm doing great!

My past is a little sad, but those days are behind me now. I am safe, loved, and very happy in the care of GRCGLA Rescue. I was found as a stray with a prong collar embedded in my neck. Thankfully, the wonderful people at the shelter took excellent care of me and helped me begin my journey to recovery before I made my way to rescue.

Despite everything I've been through, I have remained a gentle giant with a heart full of love. Dr. Snyder, who is quite fond of me, describes me as incredibly sweet. I am truly a hunk in the most magnificent way, and people often stop to admire me and comment on how handsome I am.

I absolutely love being with people. In fact, if you stop petting me before I'm ready, I'll gently use my famous "bossy paw" to remind you that more affection is required! I thrive on attention and enjoy spending time with my favorite humans.

I also get along wonderfully with other dogs, especially little ones. I've played with dogs of all shapes and sizes and have become especially good friends with Patches, who is also waiting for her forever home.

Like many dogs who have had a difficult past, I had a few things to learn. Cars used to be a little scary for me, but I'm gaining confidence every day. Recently, I surprised everyone by hopping right into the back seat of a Tesla and going for a cruise. It turns out I actually enjoyed it!

Taking me for a walk is a pleasure. I have lovely leash manners, enjoy long walks, and am easy to handle despite my size. One of the volunteers who spends time with me is a professional dog trainer, and I've been lucky enough to work with him. He describes me as a very chill, easygoing dog and would even love to meet my future family to help make my transition into a new home as smooth as possible. What an incredible gift for both me and my adopters!

Most of all, I'm looking for a family who will love me, cherish me, and make sure I never experience hardship again. In return, I promise to be a loyal, devoted companion who will shower you with affection, offer plenty of gentle giant snuggles, and remind you every day what a special dog I am.

6-22-26: We have an exciting update on our gentle giant, Bubba!

Bubba is now spending his days at Doggie Disneyland, where he gets to enjoy group play with lots of other dogs. This has been wonderful for him, as he is interacting and socializing with both people and dogs every day.

Bubba has been an excellent guest and is making lots of new friends. We are thrilled to see him having so much fun while he waits for his forever family to find him.

This handsome hunk has so much love to give, and every day he shows us what a sweet, gentle, and affectionate boy he truly is. We know his perfect home is out there, and we can't wait for the family who adopts him to discover just how special he is.
