Say hello to our sweet senior boy, Bud-E! 

Bud-E has had a heartbreaking journey. He landed in a shelter after his beloved owner passed away, and this sweet boy was absolutely heartbroken. The caring shelter staff did everything they could to lift his spirits and even got him started on a much-needed weight-loss program, but Bud-E was still struggling with the loss of the person he loved.

With shelters so overcrowded, his chances of finding a new family were slim. The shelter reached out to us to see if we could help, and of course, we said YES!

Bud-E is now safely in rescue, with a lovely foster home waiting for him. And here's what we can tell you about this special boy: while he may not look like a traditional Golden Retriever on the outside, he is 100% Golden on the inside!He is loving, gentle, sweet, and so grateful for every bit of affection and attention he receives.

Bud-E does have some work ahead of him. He entered the shelter weighing a whopping 133 pounds and has already made wonderful progress, coming down to 122 pounds! Our veterinarian feels that around 90 pounds would be a healthy goal for him. His forever family will need to be committed to continuing his weight-loss journey through proper nutrition, exercise, and lots of encouragement. We're looking for someone who understands that helping Bud-E get healthy is an important part of giving him the best possible life.

So, what is Bud-E looking for? Nothing fancy! Just a loving home, a comfortable place to nap, leisurely walks, lots of affection, and a human he can follow from room to room. He's a chill, easygoing companion who simply wants to be near his person.
