This beautiful 5-year-old girl is what we believe to be a Flat-Coated Retriever, and she is one special pup!

Ember weighs 49 pounds, but when she arrived at a local shelter, she weighed only 39 pounds and was painfully emaciated.

Thankfully, the wonderful shelter staff took great care of her, and when nobody came to claim her, we were thrilled to step in and give Ember the second chance she deserved.

Now that she is feeling better, we are getting to know this sweet girl. Ember walks nicely on leash, knows her basic commands, loves her toys, and absolutely loves people!

Ember has also been spending her days at Doggie Disneyland, where she gets to enjoy group play with many other big dogs. She has been a wonderful guest and has shown us that she not only gets along great with people, but she also gets along wonderfully with other dogs!

This is such a great thing to know about Ember because if you have a long day at work or are heading out of town, you can feel confident leaving her at a doggie daycare or boarding facility where she can have a blast playing with her friends. Talk about a well-rounded girl!

Ember is beautiful, sweet, social, well-mannered, and ready to put her difficult past behind her. Now all she needs is a forever family to love her as much as we do.
