Milo

2 yrs old, male

Meet Milo — Our Pocket-Sized Golden Heartthrob

At just 42 pounds, Milo is a petite Golden Retriever with a heart as big as they come. This sweet boy is searching for a forever family who can see past imperfections and straight into the soul of a truly special companion.

Milo is 2 years old and still has some endearing puppy behaviors. He is friendly but shy, and once he feels safe, his gentle personality shines through. He does have a mild cognitive disability, which may show in his slightly wobbly walk and antics. We believe much of this may also be due to previous neglect and confinement. Now, he’s free to move, learn, and be loved. He likes nothing better than to sit next to you on the couch and receive pets. He will remind you not to stop.

His foster is working on adding some healthy weight to his thin frame and helping him build strength. She reports that Milo walks nicely on leash, though he may pull when something frightens him. In the evenings, he can turn into a bit of a playful “puppy monster,” reminding us that he’s still very much a young dog discovering joy and security.

Milo would likely thrive as an only dog or in a home with a calm, friendly canine companion who can help show him the ropes and offer reassurance. Above all, he needs a patient, compassionate family willing to embrace his quirks, celebrate his progress, and cheer him on every step of the way.

If you’re looking for a loyal friend with a truly golden heart, Milo just might be the one. Come meet this beautiful boy — he’s ready to love and be loved in a home where he finally belongs.
