Royce - ADOPTED!
2 yrs old, male

Say hello to Royce, a handsome 2-year-old pup who is pretty darn close to perfect — and ready to be your new best friend!
Royce is an energetic, happy guy who is up for just about anything: walks, hikes, playtime, splashing, and especially fetch! He’ll happily chase a ball seemingly forever. He walks nicely on leash and is wonderfully non-reactive to other dogs, leaf blowers, and loud outdoor noises.
He may be a little shy at first, but give him a few treats or toss a ball and you’ll quickly have a BFF.
Royce has lived with cats and he previously lived with children ages 7 and up, whom he adores playing with.
He knows lots of commands — although he sometimes puts his own spin on them! Ask him for “Down,” and he may quickly roll over, because clearly what you really meant was belly rubs. When you stop petting him, he’ll put a paw on your lap or nudge your hand with his snout to politely request more.
Royce isn’t a constant barker, though he may give a couple of woofs for attention, and he doesn’t show separation anxiety. He’s a little unsure about swimming pools but happily splashes in a wading pool, especially when kids are playing.
Of course, Royce isn’t quite perfect. He may jump up to hug when excited to say hello. Despite being house and crate trained, he could have an occasional excitement or nervous dribble as he readjusts to indoor life after spending the past five months outside. While he loves retrieving his ball, he prefers to drop it rather than letting you take it away. These are pretty minor quirks for such a wonderful guy!
Much of what we know about Royce comes from his owner, and his rescue team will continue getting to know him. But so far, he’s proving to be ........near perfect, and ready for a loving home.
If you’re looking for a fun-loving adventure buddy, who will play fetch, make you laugh, and remind you when it’s time for more belly rubs, Royce might be your guy!
