Willow
10 yrs old, female

Meet our lovely pup, Willow. She is 10 years old and is now safe and sound in rescue after enduring horrific abuse. Her transformation in the short amount of time we’ve had her has already been remarkable.
On the outside, her skin is healing, her coat is growing back, and she is putting on much-needed weight. She is getting more beautiful every single day. But even more important is how she is healing on the inside.
When she first arrived, she was completely shut down and had given up on life, which is very understandable after everything she has been through.
With the wonderful care and love she has received from the doctors and volunteers, her spirit is shining through. Her tail is wagging all the time, she loves getting belly rubs, and she has even started to play. She also loves other dogs.
This girl is the true poster child of rescue, and we can’t wait to share her continuing transformation from a broken dog into a loved, happy, and healthy pup.
Pupdate 4/4: We have a wonderful update on our sweet Willow!
She is thriving in her foster home, soaking up love and truly enjoying life. After the heartbreaking neglect she endured, Willow is finally getting the chance to be treated like the princess she was always meant to be.
She loves going on walks with her foster family and has happily claimed a cozy spot on the couch as her own. Her favorite pastime? Watching and chasing squirrels in the big backyard—it brings her so much joy!
Willow has excellent house manners and sleeps peacefully through the night. She is still on her journey to full recovery—her coat continues to grow back, and she’s gaining the weight she so desperately needed—but the transformation has already been incredible. She looks so much healthier and happier than the fragile, emaciated girl who first came into our care.
One thing we’ve learned about Willow is that while she does fine meeting other dogs out and about, she would truly prefer to be the only dog in her home, where she can soak up all the love and attention she deserves.
We couldn’t be more proud of how far she’s come.
